SERVA BlueBlot Semi-Dry Blotter

The BlueBlot semi-dry blotter forms a homogeneous electrical field that guarantees fast and efficient transfer of proteins from gel to membrane.

It is available with blotting areas of 11 cm x 11 cm, 17 cm x 17 cm and 24 cm x 26 cm.  For the two smaller units, both electrode pairs (11 cm and 17 cm) will fit into the same base housing, what makes the blotter very flexible for small and larger gels.

With the 24 cm x 26 cm unit large gels like the horizontal HPE™ 2D gels can be blotted.

SERVA BlueCube 300

The SERVA BlueCube 300 is equipped with a CMOS camera, a built-in UV transilluminator, a filter changer including an UV filter, as well as a gel capturing and analysis software (GelView 1D).
It is suitable for documentation of DNA gels stained with ethidium bromide, but also for gels stained with DNA Stain Clear G or similar.
A magnetic shield protects the user when cutting out DNA bands from the gel. With dimensions of 30 x 26 x 24 cm and a weight of 10.4 kg only, it is a very compact and bench place saving system.

SERVA FastLoad DNA Ladders

The DNA ladders are ready-to-use in loading buffer and can be stored for 6 months at 25 °C (except cat. no. 39215) or for 12 months at 4 °C — no thawing, further dilution or adding of buffer components is necessary before use. At -20 °C they are stable for at least two years.
For estimation of DNA mass of bands of similar size with comparable intensity, the approximate mass of each marker band is indicated.

SERVA FastLoad 50 bp DNA ladder
17 fragments from 50 – 1500 base pairs. The bands at 200 bp and 500 bp have increased intensity and serve as reference points.

SERVA FastLoad 100 bp DNA ladder
12 fragments from 100 – 3000 base pairs. The bands at 500 bp and 1500 bp have increased intensity and serve as reference points.

SERVA Triple and Pink Color Protein Standards

The protein standards are ready-to-use — no heating, further dilution or adding of reducing reagents is necessary before use. The markers are stable for up to two weeks at 25 °C , for up to 3 months at 4 °C and up to two years at -20 °C . They are designed for monitoring protein separation during SDS PAGE, verification of Western Blotting transfer efficiency and for approximate sizing of proteins.

SERVA Triple Color Protein Standard II
Mixture of 10 pre-stained proteins of a molecular weight range from 11 to 180 kDa. Proteins are covalently coupled with a blue chromophore except for one green band at 25 kDa and one red band at 75 kDa.

SERVA Triple Color Protein Standard III
Mixture of 13 pre-stained proteins of a molecular weight range from 5 to 245 kDa. Proteins are covalently coupled with a blue chromophore except for one green band at 25 kDa and one red band at 75 kDa.

SERVA Pink Color Protein Standard II
Mixture of 11 pre-stained proteins of a molecular weight range from 10.5 to 175 kDa. Proteins are covalently coupled with a pink chromophore and contains for easy identification three blue bands at approximate 10 kDa, 40 kDa and 90 kDa.


SERVA HPE™ Lightning Red

Fluorescent Pre-labeling of Proteins in 2D PAGE

Fluorescent dye for rapid labelling of proteins prior to 1D SDS or 2D PAGE, making any staining and washing steps after electrophoresis unnecessary. Moreover, although sensitivity is at least as high as silver staining or other fluorescence dyes, costs are significantly lower.
The labelling procedure is simple and quick and does not require any additional measures like clean-up or centrifugation steps.

In contrast to other fluorescent dyes used for labelling lysine residues of proteins, SERVA HPE™ Lightning Red is compatible with all additives typically used for sample solubilisation and protein extraction, including carrier ampholytes and reductants. Furthermore, no pH adjustment is necessary, alkalescent conditions are sufficient.

Fluorescent dye for rapid labelling of proteins prior to 1D SDS PAGE, making any staining and washing steps after electrophoresis unnecessary. Kits are sufficient for
500 lanes or 1250 lanes – no matter what size of gel (mini, wide or large format) you use. Increase detection sensitivity to the level of silver staining with costs comparable to Coomassie® staining.
The labelling procedure is simple and quick. Samples of protein concentrations between 1 and 10 mg/ml can be used and no purification or concentration steps after labelling are necessary.

SERVA Purple

A well-established fluorescent dye for 1D and 2D PAGE with improved performance

The fluorescent dye Deep Purple (marketed by GE) and LavaPurple (marketed by Gelcompany and SERVA) has been used by many laboratories for staining proteins in gels and on blotting membranes.

The dye is based on a small naturally occurring fluorescent compound “Epicocconone” that reversibly binds to lysine, arginine, and histidine residues in proteins and peptides to yield an intensely red-fluorescent product. SERVA Purple is a further development of this compound “Epicocconone”. It has improved properties due to a novel production and purification technology by unchanged cost-effectiveness compared to other fluorescence dyes or even silver staining.
The staining protocols used for Deep Purple and LavaPurple, can be applied without any alteration. Comparative staining tests within SERVA and in some customer laboratories have produced excellent results, absolutely comparable to results achieved with the predecessor Epicocconone dyes.

ICPL™ - Coupled Immunoprecipitation
(ICPL-IP)

ImmunoPrecipitation (IP) is widely used as a method to selectively isolate protein complexes from primary tissues. However, due to lack of specificity and selectivity of most antibodies and unspecific binding of the carrier beads, the method can produce false positives. The ICPL approach, employing stable isotope labelling and mass spectrometry, can discriminate true positive from false positive IP complexes.
