Embedding
For preparing sections of biological specimens with a microtome, the samples
must be embedded in a suitable medium. For electron microscopy SERVA offers a
comprehensive range of embedding media, which can be used for a broad variety
of specimens.
Permanent specimens in histology/light microscopy are
prepared by embedding in non-aqueous or aqueous media. Many of the traditional
embedding media contain hazardous chemicals like xylene or toluol. SERVA
offers for many common embedding media safe alternatives without solvents,
phenol or other compounds.
