The SERVA Violet 17 Staining Kit is suited to stain all vertical and
horizontal gels after isoelectric focusing (IEF). The kit is convenient, safe
and easy to use and contains everything needed for fixation, staining and
destaining. The colloidal stain SERVA Violet 17 gives you high sensitivity
when staining IEF gels. The use of SERVA Violet 17 stain tablets included in
the kit eliminates the need of weighing powder and no organic solvents are
needed to apply SERVA Violet 17 staining. Ready-to-use fixation and
destaining solution will reduce your hands-on time when staining IEF gels.
Everything for making of the staining solution is included with the kit (with
the exception of distilled water) and is easily done and well described in the
instruction manual. This detailed instruction manual will guide you to protein
band detection at high sensitivity combined with a very low background. The
SERVA Violet 17 Staining Kit contains 40 SERVA Violet 17 tablets (dye content
25 mg each) and 500 ml stain solubilizer solution, ready-to-use solutions for
fixation (2 x 500 ml) and destaining (500 ml) and a detailed protocol for the
detection procedure. The kit contains enough stain tablets and solutions for 5
to 10 applications (large/small gels). The shelf-life time of the kit is 5
years when stored at room temperature.
