Precast Vertical Gels

SERVAGel™ precast vertical gels for mini slab gel electrophoresis are ready-to-use, prepared from acrylamide-bis and cast into unbreakable plastic cassettes. The format of 10 x 10 cm is compatible with many slab gel tank systems. SERVAGel™ is shipped in a vacuum sealed bag.

The SERVAGel™ IEF gels (cat. nos. 43240, 43242) are suitable for isoelectric focussing
(IEF) in a pH range of 3 to 8.5 (Standard IEF) and 5.5 to 11 (non-equilibrium pH gradient electrophoresis, NEPHGE). For NEPHGE you change cathode and anode buffer as well as polarity of the electrophoresis chamber. In contrast to standard IEF, samples are loaded anodic, which enables an optimal separation of basic to very basic proteins.
