Closures

Spectra/Por® Closures

Autoclavable, made from polypropylene
Spectra/Por® Closures are only suitable for membranes from regenerated cellulose.

  • Standard Closure Type
Since Spectra/Por® Closures float, they aid in buoyancy and vertical orientation when applied to the tubing top end. Available in orange, white, green and blue for easy sample identification.
    • Weighted Closure Type
Spectra/Por® Weighted Closures encase an acid-washed, fluorocarbon coated, stainless steel bar. When applied to one end of the dialysis tubing, the weighted closure acts like an anchor to maintain a vertical orientation of the sample. Available in white color.

    • Paired Standard and Weighted Closures

The ultimate sample buoyancy and vertical orientation can be achieved by applying both a Standard and Weighted Spectra/Por® Closure to opposite ends of the same dialysis tubing. Available in orange (standard) and white (weighted).

    • Magnetic Closure Type

Spectra/Por® Magnetic-Weighted Closures contain a magnetic fluorocarbon coated stainless steel bar, eliminating the need for conventional stir bars. When applied to the bottom end of the dialysis tubing, this closure provides complete submersion and gentle rotation of the sample. Available in red color.

    • Universal Closures

Made from polyamide. Not autoclavable, for sterilization use gamma irradiation or ethylene oxide. Specifically designed with gentle sealing ridges, Universal Closures are the ideal all-purpose closure that creates a reliable seal for all membrane grades, types and thicknesses of tubing. Available in white, red, yellow, green, blue and black for easy sample identification.
