The protein standard for isoelectric focusing (IEF) enables reliable and reproducible calibration of the isoelectric point (pI) of native proteins in polyacrylamide or agarose IEF gels. The lyophilized Protein Test Mixture for pI-Determination, pH 3-10, contains nine native proteins in the pI range 3.5 to 10.7 (13 isoforms). The naturally red coloured cytochrome C facilitates monitoring of the focusing.
After reconstitution with 1 ml water the marker proteins have a concentration of 10 mg/ml.
Staining with SERVA Violet 17 (cat. no. 35072 and 35074), SERVA Blue G (cat. no. 35050), SERVA Blue R (cat. no. 35051): 5 µl/lane for horizontal gels, 20 µl/lane for vertical gels
Silver staining: 1:10 dilution and 5 µl or 20 µl/lane
