RIPA buffer is a very effective buffer for lysis of cultured mammalians cells. It enables protein extraction from cytoplasmic, membrane and nuclear proteins, suitable for many applications like Western Blotting, protein purification and protein assays.
Since the buffer will disrupt protein-protein interactions, applications like immunoprecipitation and pull-down assays may be disturbed.
