Albumins prepared from Bovine Plasma
Albumins constitute a class of proteins highly abundant in the animal kingdom. They are best characterized by their high solubility in water and resistance against denaturing agents. Due to an initially high clinical importance plasma albumins are among the best known biopolymers. Today, there is an enormous interest in albumins for cell culture, microbiology and (enzyme) diagnostics. For basic research, the carrier function of albumins for bioactive substances is of major importance.
