Collagenase NB 5 Sterile Grade from Clostridium histolyticum
(Clostridiopeptidase A, Collagenase A) EC 3.4.24.3 • Mr ca. 70 000 - 120 000 (collagenases) • CAS [9001-12-1]
Contains class I and class II collagenase and a balanced ratio of proteolytic
activities. PZ activity (Wünsch): ≥ 0.1 U/mg Microbiological
examination: Sterility, Absence of Clostridia Sterility performed
according to Ph. Eur. For applications where the use of sterile
collagenase according to the guidelines of the European Pharmacopoeia is
required. Collagenase NB 5 Sterile Grade is applicable to tissue
dissociation such as isolation of human and rodent hepatocytes, chondrocytes,
neuronal and endothelial cells, fibroblasts, cells from adipose tissue (e.g.
ADSC's), stem cells and rodent osteoblasts. See also Collagenase NB 6 GMP

Unit definition: 1 U according to Wünsch (1) catalyzes the hydrolysis of 1
µmole 4-phenylazobenzyloxycarbonyl-L-prolyl-L-leucylglycyl-
L-prolyl-D-arginine per minute at 25 °C, pH 7.1.
