Cell culture tested. Water-soluble aminoglycoside antibiotic from Streptomyces
sp. (1,2). Inhibitor of protein synthesis (3). Differs from other
aminoglycoside derivatives in that it is bacteriostatic instead of
bactericidal. Stock solution: 10 mg/ml in distilled water, sterile
filtered. For molecular biology applications standard working concentration
is 100 µg/ml and in cell culture 7.5 – 20 mg/l.
