CYS21 chemically-competent bacteria

CYS21 is a proprietary E. coli strain that contains the selection gene (ccdB) in its chromosome. This strain is recommended for cloning applications when using the Staby™ system. In CYS21 bacteria, plasmids encoding a ccdA gene are selected and perfectly stabilized even without antibiotics: 100 % of bacteria contain the plasmid. Bacteria are shipped (in dry ice) with SOC medium. Each tube of CYS21 chemically-competent cells contains 100 µl of competent bacteria (>1X108 cfu/ug DNA ).
