Acarbose from Actinoplanes sp. ca. 100 FIP-AIU/mg
contact dried, amorphC25H43O18N • Mr 645.6 • CAS [56180-94-0]
Ca. 100 FIP-AIU/mg (FIP-α-amylase inhibitor unit) using porcine pancreatic α-amylase.
This highly purified Acarbose, a pseudotetrasaccharide, inhibits α-amylases [EC 3.2.1.1], α-glucosidases [EC 3.2.1.3], saccharases [EC 3.2.1.48]. Used e.g. in enzymatic conversions and assays where α-amylases, α-glucosidases or saccharases interfere with the reaction.
